The purpose of the Mason Pulse Survey, distributed to all Mason students enrolled in Spring 2020, was to capture student impressions and experiences when Mason abruptly moved to a 100% distance-learning format in response to the pandemic caused by COVID-19. The instrument included questions about the quality of virtual instruction, experiences with Blackboard (instruction platform), awareness of and needs for campus resources, COVID-19 impacts, and intent to re-enroll in Fall 2020. This information can be used to gauge the student experience, identify and address areas for improvement including providing additional student support, and plan for the future.
