Zhicheng Zhang

Zhicheng is mainly responsible for large-scale student surveys such as Graduating Senior Survey, Graduate Student Exit Survey, Career Plan Survey, One-Year Out Survey, National Survey of Student Engagement and Beginning College Survey of Student Engagement. Specific responsibilities entail instrument development, survey administration, statistical analysis, and reporting to support decision-making and program improvement. She also maintains the University Survey Calendar to coordinate major data collection activities on camps and works closely with various colleges/schools/units to enhance student participation in surveys.


Zhicheng earned a Ph.D. in Educational Research from the University of Alabama and a MS in Computer Science from the University of Northern Virginia. Prior to joining George Mason University, she worked as the Associate Director of Institutional Research at Virginia Military Institute, and as a program evaluation specialist in Fairfax County Public Schools. Her scholarly work includes research methodology, assessment practices and skills, retention and graduation, development of college students, program evaluation, and technology impact on learning.


Zhicheng likes jogging regardless of weather.
