John Dooris

John Dooris analyzes institutional data for decision-support and strategic planning within the university and provides support for regional accreditation, state, and federal compliance reporting. He also co-chairs the university’s Data Stewardship Committee (responsible for developing and implementing data governance policies, standards, and procedures).
Prior to joining Mason, he was a geographer at the U.S. Census Bureau. He received an M.S. in urban geography from Utrecht University and a B.S. in geography from Penn State University. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate in education at Mason with specializations in higher education and research methodology. He is particularly interested in higher education policy and quantitative analysis.
John is a die-hard bike commuter and rides his bike to campus year-round.
